I am Roberto. I am a tech operator. Currently an investor, previously Data Scientist / AI Eng / Researcher.
I am a Technical Investor at the AI Fund of CDP Venture Capital, where I focus on investing in post-seed AI, Cyber, and Quantum startups. Thanks to my technical background, I can speak the language of technical founders / CTOs and reason with them about their products and technology.
Previously, I was an AI researcher at ETHZ, working with Zhijing Jin, Bernhard Schölkopf, and Mrinmaya Sachan. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Computer Science from Bocconi University and a Master’s degree in Data Science from EPFL.

My research primarily focused on LLM evals using natural questions (i.e. creating evals that reflect real user questions) + Causal reasoning. I love interesting technical challenges and building systems that people use.

Outside of work, I’m a Padel and Tennis fan (go Jannik!). I also love engaging in discussions about modern-day philosophy (bonus points if you know who René Girard is).
